MY JOB AT A JAPANESE RESTAURANT....
Journal Entry: Sat Dec 2, 2006, 11:47 PM
sucks...well, at least today it does. I always thought working at a Japanese restaurant would be "fun". Because I automatically assumed that they were "Japanese"...stupid stupid stupid. Everyone's Chinese, Mexican, or White and we all get along fine but I wanted to actually speak with someone Japanese!!!! Well, anyways, I've had this job since around July and I thought being a hostess probably is not as hard as being a waitress....DUMB!
People yell at you if they wait too long, they blame everything on you, not only do you have to take people back, but you have to set up sushi tables in front while taking people back to hibachi in the back (we only have thirteen tables with a max occupancy of 10!!! and not all tables can seat 10!) and then answer telephone calls, deal with prank telephone calls, bitchy people, and a busboy who thinks he's a hostess and bosses you around!!!
Tonight, I totally freaked on someone. This teenage girl was getting in my face and I finally told her to sit down and shut up (In much nicer terms then I actually said it). We sat 41 tables in five hours (which is a lot considering most Saturday nights are 34 or so). Everyone was being evil, I was carrying dishes on both arms while telling my other hostess how long to tell people the wait was, making sure George, the busboy didn't take people back without telling me so I could write it down and keep track all the while trying to find my happy place. This is the third day in a row I've had to work because the girl I worked with tonight was sick the night before and I have to work again tomorrow morning....It's already nearly two O'clock in the morning now, I'm exhausted but am still up because of stress. I have to be at work today by 10:30 in the morning to deal with people pumped full of not only "HOlY SPIRIT" but HoliDAY SHOPPING!!!!!
What doesn't make sense to me is, if you just came from church, wouldn't you be nice and calm? Wouldn't you be so uplifted by the Lord's word that you could sit for 5-10 minutes? (which is standard because we try to fill up a table before we seat people because again, we only have thirteen table and the thirteenth one we try not to use unless we're extremely busy....) Yet, these people parade around with parties of 16 and 25 and expect us to seat them at once, men at one table, ladies at another trying to make us seat children at what they think is "the kiddy table" all the while I lose my merry little mind.
So, I hope this was a ramble enough for one day...and hopefully and goodnight to you soon!!!!

This means:
Rules:
The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Six Weird Habits/Things About Yourself"
and people who get tagged need to write a journal about their six Weird Habits/Things as well
as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next six people to be tagged and list their names.
Don't forget to leave a comment that says "You are tagged" in their devPage comments and tell them to read yours...
